re-grooved christmas tunes

re-grooved christmas tunes
If you want to add a little extra funk to your festivities this season, I recommend this hip mix of holiday grooves.  One of my favs is Happy Holidays. Here’s what they’re saying about it…"Dance music is all about the remix, and no genre is safe. As proof, San Francisco’s Six Degrees Records have loosed a ragtag band of DJs upon that venerable institution, the Christmas classic. As one might suspect, the kitsch/fun factor .

a merry melody from Regina Spektor
I was listening to the latest Regina Spektor song, Fidelity in the car while running my errands today and couldn’t help not to get this merry melody in my head.  So there I am… pushing my grocery cart down the cereal isle singing (in my head of course) ha..ah.ah..ah.ah.ah…ah…ah. ah.ah.. ha .ah ..ah. ha heart"…. you’ll see what I mean when you watch her lovely video. Here’s what they say about her latest album, .

I was first turned onto these guys after I heard their song If I ever feel better on their United Album and have been a fan ever since.  They have a very unique sound and can be quite addicting. Here’s what the pros say: "The band’s been relentlessly eclectic since they formed in the late ’90s; they make hybrid music, an electronic-flavored rock that’s impossible to describe without using up half a dozen hyphens .

I stumbled upon one of India’s latest releases There’s Hope while driving the other day and couldn’t get it out of my mind… which was a good thing because it has an uplifting message that’s important to remember.  In addition to the catchy back beat the chorus goes a little something like this: There’s hope. It doesn’t cost a thing to smile. You don’t have to pay to laugh. You better thank God for .

What can I say; I’m a sucker for Mr. John Mayer.  I’ve been a big fan ever since his first album Room For Squares. I even joined the fan club (along with the rest of the crazed teenage girls and soccer moms) And his latest album, Continuum doesn’t disappoint… in fact you can listen to the entire thing on-line before its even available to purchase…how cool is that? Some of my new favorites are .

I’ve been jamming to Spoon’s tunes for the past couple of months and can say I’ve become addicted. Some of my favs are Delicate Place and Beast & Dragon, Adored and I’ve included the I Turn My Camera On video.    Here’s what the pros say about them, "Spoon make some of the catchiest, most confident rock ‘n’ roll of any group around. Their fifth full-length is nothing short of a dizzying, soulful masterpiece, .
